Rep. Frank Pallone sitting on almost $2.4 million

Now one of the most powerful Democrats on Capitol Hill, Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-Long Branch) raised $466,365 during his first three months as the chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

Pallone now has a warchest of $2,369,482, according to reports filed this evening with the Federal Election Commission.

His campaign account has been replenished since the end of 2014, when an unsuccessful bid for the Democratic U.S. Senate nomination in 2013 and an unexpectedly tough challenge against Monmouth County freeholder Anna Little brought Pallone’s coffers down to $504,059.

The seventeen-term Democrat reported spending $224,459 so far this year. He brought in 71% of his money through political action committees and other political committees.
