Paul Tarashuk's mother Cindy (Raritan Township NJ) needs help in getting Orangeburg County South Carolina to do the right thing.

They should have protected him, so how did EMTs let a man walk away to his eventual death

Her son was schizophrenic. Found naked and walking along the highway in South Carolina - he was mocked then let go by EMTs. The first responders (police) then left him at a locked/closed has station. Then he was hit and killed by a car.

He was mentally ill in a schizophrenic episode. Toxicology reports prove he was not on drugs.

This mother in our community - a New Jersey citizen needs our help. Time stood still for her on September 10 2018.I

On the night of February 24, 2010, 17-year-old Paul Tarashuk Jr. likely saved an elderly woman's life and kept countless other drivers out of harm's way. And now he is being rewarded for his actions with a college scholarship.

On that fateful night, Tarashuk was driving south on Route 202-31 in New Jersey when he saw Marie Vickery – who was at the time suffering from dementia, high blood pressure and malnourishment – turn into oncoming traffic in front of him.

"I stopped at a stoplight and then I saw this lady turning into the oncoming traffic," Tarashuk told AOL Autos. "She came and hit the car next to me and then backed up and the cars crossing the highway almost hit her.

"When the light turned green, I started to drive on. I realized I witnessed something, though, and I had to turn around and help the lady."
