'Repugnant' town fired gay cop, and then his boyfriend for 'budget' reasons, then replaced them both
The boyfriend of a former Palisades Park police officer who was fired last year after alleging harassment and discrimination has filed a tort notice against the borough after also being let go.
Corey Havens, 25, worked in the IT department at the borough of Palisades Park since 2017. He was terminated in October for budgetary reasons, though his attorney says the firing was because of Havens orientation.
Havens is in a relationship with former officer Robert DeVito, who filed a tort claims for harassment and discrimination in May. He was fired in June.
