Rep. Leonard Lance gets mixed reaction at latest town hall meeting

CRANFORD - U.S. Rep. Leonard Lance, R-7th District, says he's confident his views are the views of the people in his district despite the mixed reaction he received to some of the questions he answered during Tuesday's Town Hall meeting.

Tuesday was Lance's 44th Town Hall meeting. It was held at the Roy Smith Theatre at Union County College. Lance represents constituents in parts of Hunterdon, Somerset, Union, Morris, Warren and Essex counties.

Lance said his district has a history of being a swing district, especially in presidential races. He said the district voted last year in support of Hillary Clinton for president.

And Tuesday much of the crowd expressed their displeasure with some policies of the President Donald Trump's administration related to the budget, which Lance voted against.
