In a recent Facebook post, New Hampshire state representative Josh Moore said that if a law to ban topless female nudity fails, men should be able to squeeze exposed nipples in public.
Moore was responding to a post by a Democrat colleague who opposes the bill, when the two got into a squabble, prompting Moore to make the comments.
Currently in New Hampshire, it is legal for both men and women to expose their nipples in public, but a state bill would make it a misdemeanor for women to expose their nipples, even for breastfeeding. The bill is backed solely by Republican men.
State representative Amanda Bouldin went to Facebook to voice her issues with the bill and its Republican support. Bouldin found irony int the fact that Republicans claim to believe in freedom and small government, but are now attempting to ban the female breast.

(6,133 posts)Said if breastfeeding is natural, then a guy could naturally reach out and grab that breast because it's natural. He meant it in public.
Assault is natural to the GOP. If not, the GOP women would speak out.

Aside from there being no conceivable way to justify assault, it follows that any guy could fondle or take baby bottle-- just another feeding device, innit?
Besides, if the baby is feeding, how do you see the nipple with the baby's head in the way?
Another question, though. In the dim past before formula, how did your average woman without a wet nurse handle feeding? Was it normal to feed in public, or were there special places set up? I can't imagine proper Victorians allowing public breast feeding, but how about the rest of the world?

(8 posts)Women have every right to breastfeed their babies in public! It's a frequent occurence that a baby is crying from hunger in a public place, because nursing mothers can't stay at home all the time. They need fresh air and their babies too! DO republicans know how many pros of public breastfeeding (http://motherhow.com/breastfeeding-in-public-the-pros-and-cons/) there are?
