1. GET REGISTERED
You can register to vote at your polling place on Election Day. However, if you’d like
to be registered before the November 6th general election, your local Board of
Elections must receive your voter registration form no later than October 27th, 2012.
You can get started now by contacting your town clerk and requesting a voter
registration form.

2. WHAT TO BRING

KNOW WHAT TO BRING:
New Hampshire does not require a registered voter to bring ID in order to
check in and obtain a ballot, but first-time voters who registered by mail may
be asked to present ID prior to voting on Election Day. Identification may
include, but is not limited to:
• Any Current and Valid Photo ID:
o Driver’s license
o Student or job ID
o Military or other government ID
o United States passport
OR
• Non-photo ID that shows the voter’s name and address
• Bank statement
• Car registration
• Government check or document
• Non-photo driver’s license
• Rent receipt
• Sample ballot
• Utility bill
• or any other official document.

3. VOTE!
Election Day is Tuesday, November 6th, 2012. Polls open no later
than 11:00 a.m., and close no earlier than 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
Contact your local town or city clerk for the exact hours of your
polling place.

VOTE EARLY OR BY MAIL:
New Hampshire has absentee voting for certain groups of people, including those
who cannot make it to the polls on Election Day due to physical disability, religious
beliefs, military service, or because of a temporary absence. You can pick up an
absentee ballot from your town or city clerk approximately 30 days prior to an
election. Clerks may accept completed absentee ballots submitted in person by the
voter until 5:00 p.m. the day before an election or until 5:00 p.m. on Election Day, if received through the mail.
