Missing New Hampshire serval found, back at home
Sept. 12 (UPI) -- A pet serval that went missing in New Hampshire this week has been found and returned to its owners, police said Saturday.
On Wednesday the Merrimack Police Department alerted the public that a 40-pound serval named Spartacus had gone missing from his home.
Police Capt. Matthew Tarleton told the Boston Globe that Dean King, Spartacus' owner, saw the cat around town Friday night and Saturday morning, and eventually trapped the cat near his home.
King said he baited the trap with Spartacus' blanket "and some irresistible rats."
The cat is in good health, police said.

Whew what a few days Ive had! I managed to get out of my jungle and found a new and exciting jungle to explore. The first night I went thru the woods towards Amherst and found a nice pond to hunt near. I decided to sleep there for the day. When I woke up it was raining and I lost my scent and couldnt find my way home! I spent the next night exploring and trying to find my way home. Friday I woke up 5 miles away near Twordowski field in Merrimack and heard my mother calling me! I was still trying to explore this new and exciting jungle and wasnt ready to go home so I ran off. A few hours later I heard mom and dad calling me again! This time I came up to them to say hi, but I ran off again when I saw the cage. Boy it sure was cold tho! I heard my brother calling me a few hours later so I decided to follow him because it was getting very cold. I followed him all the way home! I smelled the dirty laundry my parents had hung out to help me find my way home and then I saw the strange metal box with 2 irresistibly delicious rats and my blanket in it so I decided snuggle up and have a feast! A couple of hours later I saw my Dad!!! I was cold wet and scared and never so happy to see him!!
Now Im sleeping in my own bed with a nice warm blanket!! I want to thank all the people who helped my parents locate me and help me find my way home!!
