Mayor is safe, as police investigate shooting at home of Jean Stothert

Omaha police are investigating a shooting at the home of Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert Friday afternoon.

Police were called to the home at 1:54 p.m. for a shooting.

The mayor is safe, but one person was found dead at the property. The person was a man in his 70s.

Investigators have blocked streets leading to the Mayor's home in southwest Omaha.

Irving police, FBI investigating after man kills himself outside Rep. Beth Van Duyne's house

Police officials said they are looking into the motive.

IRVING, Texas — The FBI and Irving police are investigating after a man killed himself Wednesday outside of Rep. Beth Van Duyne's house, officials said.

Van Duyne was home at the time of the incident and only heard the shooting, Irving police said.

Police officials said they are looking into the motive.

The identity of the man who died has not been released.
