Former Gov. Bob Kerrey throws his support behind gubernatorial candidate Bob Krist
Bob Kerrey, a Democrat who has served as Nebraska governor and U.S. senator, has thrown his support behind gubernatorial candidate Bob Krist.
Krist, a state senator, registered as a Democrat this year to challenge Republican Gov. Pete Ricketts.
To do so he must advance out of a primary that also includes political newcomers Tyler Davis and Vanessa Ward.
In a fundraising email, Kerrey said Krist is “fiercely independent and can provide the leadership it will take to reform our antiquated property tax system. He’ll restore funding for education, expand health care, and protect those who cannot defend themselves.”
