Daughters of Casey Kasem, Mickey Rooney push bill aimed at halting isolation of vulnerable adults

LINCOLN — Genenne Didier of Lincoln shares a common heartbreak with the daughters of two famous Hollywood personalities.

All three have known the frustration, fear and sorrow of being prevented from visiting beloved relatives as they lay dying.

Kerri Kasem, daughter of Casey Kasem, who created the American Top 40 countdown, and Kelly Rooney, daughter of beloved actor Mickey Rooney, fought very public battles to be able to visit their fathers.

Didier faced a lower-profile, but no less fierce, struggle to save her Uncle Charlie from being starved to death by his caregiver.
