Gwen Walz stops in Nebraska to stump for reproductive rights, Dems
OMAHA — Former Nebraska teacher Gwen Walz visited Omaha’s 2nd Congressional District on Saturday to stress the need for women and their allies on reproductive rights to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Walz’s husband.
Minnesota’s first lady headlined a campaign stop on the weekend after Tuesday’s vice presidential debate between Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Republican U.S. Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio, the running mate of the GOP nominee, former President Donald Trump.
Gwen Walz was joined — on the 45th stop of a national bus tour to swing states — by Democratic National Committee Chairman Jaime Harrison, U.S. Reps. Joyce Beatty, D-Ohio, and Linda Sanchez, D-Calif., plus “Friday Night Lights” actress Connie Britton.
Walz also visited the Omaha area in mid-August, that time with her husband, shortly after Harris picked him to be her running mate.
