Yellowstone County Democratic Central Committee members selected three potential replacements Tuesday for former Rep. Kelly McCarthy.
Emma Kerr-Carpenter, Ming Cabrera and Anne Giuliano were nominated to replace McCarthy. Their names will be submitted to the Yellowstone County Commission, which will meet Thursday morning to review the nominees before making an appointment July 10.
McCarthy withdrew from central Billings House District 49 earlier this year to join his wife in Australia. The departure left a hole in the Democrats legislative lineup, though there was no urgency to fill the vacancy because Montanas Legislature normally meets in odd years.
