Suspended fraternity receives cease and desist order
The Montana State University fraternity suspended last week after two reports this semester of a student being hospitalized for alcohol poisoning received a cease and desist order from the fraternitys national office.
The letter, dated Nov. 15, orders the MSU chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon to stop all operations and fraternity-related activities, including social functions, philanthropic events and anything to do with recruitment.
This order will remain in place through the duration of our open investigation, as well as closely monitoring and working with the universitys investigation processes, the letter reads.
The Supreme Council will consider suspending the Chapters Charter if there is any violations of this Order. The Chapters Charter could also be suspended if there are any continued operations during this order.
