Glendale Mayor Richard Magee has law license put on probation

Glendale Mayor Richard J. Magee has had his law license placed on probation for one year.

A Missouri Supreme Court disciplinary committee found that Magee failed to provide competent representation by allowing his client's case to be dismissed twice; conducted no formal discovery for more than two years; and failed to keep his client reasonably informed.

The complaint was filed by Kelvin Richardson, a former St. Louis County employee who retained Magee in 2015 to represent him in a civil rights lawsuit.

The high court put Magee's license on probation in late December. Conditions include Magee filing quarterly reports with a court monitor and work with a mentor to improve his case management.
