Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens, who has been engulfed in scandal after blackmail allegations, has postponed a string of events this week to promote his proposed tax cuts.
Greitens had been scheduled to tour businesses around the state, including stops Thursday in Riverside and St. Joseph, in an effort to build support for the plan that he promised in last weeks State of the State address would be the boldest state tax reform in America.
But an event page that previously listed six events now lists nothing.
The proposed tax cuts were intended to be Greitens main policy goal for his second year in office and one of the focal points of this years legislative session.
But within hours of making the speech, Greitens faced allegations that three years ago he took a nude photograph of a woman while she was blindfolded and bound in an effort to intimidate her from speaking about their extramarital affair.

(15,624 posts)In the southeast corner of Kansas (Pittburg), and as bad as Kansas could be, there was always something happening in Missouri that made us feel better about ourselves. My favorite was when the state legislature was wrote some sort of anti-pornography or common decency law (something to do with sex), and it passed, but because it was written so floridly yet poorly, they brought in a professional linguist who deduced that the bill completely outlawed sex.

Remember little bit of Tulsa, OK
Went to jurior school right outside Harry Truman's house where we would wave at him through the windows while he was on his daily walks around the block where his house was.
It was a different time then...
Oh well.
Hope you enjoy KCMO, I think it's hopping compared to St. Louis MO, and would like to see more of.

(15,624 posts)I feel the same way about St. Louis. Whenever I visit, I have to go to two restaurants... A Vietnamese one, which I don't know where it is (I have a friend who lives in St. Louis who does), and Fitz's. I know that last place is kind of touristy, but their pulled pork hamburger is great.
Last time I passed through, I went to the Nuclear Waste Adventure Trail and Museum just outside STL. I enjoy the weird roadside attractions, and the giant pile of rocks with steps reminded me of the pyramids in Mexico.
