Bryant calls Trump comments 'unacceptable'

Republican Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant called Donald Trump's vulgar comments about groping women captured in a 2005 video "unacceptable," but would not say whether he will continue to support the GOP presidential nominee.

"Donald Trump's remarks are unacceptable," Bryant said in a written statement on Saturday. "They do not square with the man I have gotten to know the past few months. He has done the right thing and apologized."

Bryant did not say whether he would continue to work for the Trump campaign, on which he has been an adviser and served as a surrogate, making campaign appearances in other states on Trump's behalf.

A spokesman for Bryant said he is declining further comment for now on whether Bryant would continue to support Trump or work for the campaign.
