a Democrat who was formerly a congressman. Governors aren't term limited in MN so the only way Franken could run for governor without primarying another Dem would be if Walz decided not to run at some point.

It was far more embarrassing to have Tommy Thompson, and then Walker, as Governor than Jesse Ventura, lol.

Laura Kelly beat out Kobach, who would have been even worse than Brownback. It feels like a different state already.
Now MO is traveling down the road.

Why on earth would Senator Franken want to subject himself to more of the same? I wish he'd go the Al Gore route, placing himself beyond politics and seeking to make the world a better place. After all, Vice President Gore won an Oscar and a Nobel Peace Prize for his good works. Not too shabby for an ex-politician.

which wouldn't be a good idea, unless Klobuchar resigns to run for president. His House district is (I think) CD#5, which is about to be Dem Ilhan Omar's seat. So if he wanted to get back into office he'd have to do something at the state level like run for Governor, but our new Governor, Tim Walz, is also a Dem and is not term limited. Maybe he could be appointed to a cabinet position if a Democrat wins the presidency in 2020.

The "allegations" came every day, drip drip drip, and stopped once he said he would step down.

In politics the perception ("optics?&quot counts more than substance. Unfortunately.

But I'd be much more surprised to see him primary an incumbent Democratic governor or Senator in Minnesota.

But as long as we're playing fantasy football on this thread, here's an idea: he could move to New York, and primary Kirsten Gillibrand. I bet he'd win. Too bad he'd have to wait 'til 2024 to do it.
