Got an invitation, expressed my opinion - did not mind.
Who would I vote for, Clinton or Trump? Are they kidding??
Just curious about this organization.

question everything
(48,830 posts)And at least for me, they wanted my password which was mailed to me.
I don't know if without a password one can participate.
All the questions were political and some issues about mariijuana and free 2 yr college for the one who need.
Mostly about positive or negative opinions about Republicans and Democrats, both at the state and national level.

(28,478 posts)If not, I'd guess they're calling from one of the parties or a campaign and hiding that by calling themselves "Minnesota Opinion Survey".
I did a Google search and found someone asking the same question about it back in 2006. I did not find any explanation of who/what they are.
question everything
(48,830 posts)or, other opinions that I participated for a while until I got sick of it - no opinions about all kind of companies whose products I don't purchase, anyway.
No, these were only about politics and current issues like marijuana and free 2-yr college for those who need.

(28,478 posts)You get any feel for where they were coming from based on how the questions were worded? (I'm wondering Hillary seeing as they asked about 2 year college for "those who need it". )
question everything
(48,830 posts)It started by wanting my opinion, on a scale of 1 to 10 on Republicans and Democrats which, I suppose, could have gone either way.
And then, once I identified myself as a Democrat, a liberal, I was asked my preferences between Sanders and Clinton. Again, could have gone either way.
Once I selected Clinton, I was asked who I would vote in a match between Clinton and Trump and a match between Rubio and Clinton.
And then there were several questions about policy issues when I was asked to select between strongly disagree to strongly agree with neutral in between. And, for some reason, I only remember the marijuana and the 2-yr college.
Nothing about the Iron range and the miners who lost their unemployment benefits...
If a specific group or a candidate were behind it, they hidden it very well. At least from me.

(1 post)The last thread in this discussion was in 2016.
The invitation to the survey is requesting me to respond online.
So, I did a little research first...
This time the research company is listed as Sequoia Research, LLC, 1048B Sagamore Parkway W #1006, West Lafayette, IN, 47906.
The only Sequoia Research listed in Google search is in Texas...none are listed in Indiana.
This address in Indiana is apparently inside an A-1 Packaging Store in a little strip mall.
On Google maps this address is also listed as the address for Paul Begley Prophecy - some kind of online ministries, complete with ties to conspiracies, etc. So the address is apparently just a mail drop address.
The whole thing looks to me like it's some kind of scam operation.
But then again, I wouldn't answer any political questions from anyone, even if it were legitimate.
