Fall color update...no pictures...

Had to run into the city today, the best apple orchard around this area set up an impromptu sale in the Tractor Supply parking lot in West Branch. Grabbed a boatload, well carload, of apples at .50 a pound. Autumn and Honey Crisps.

Anyway…on the trip to town with the early morning sunshine glowing on the treetops the reds and muted yellows were resplendently showing off their colors. Some reds peeking through the green are so scarlet it was as they were screaming at you to notice them. I do believe we are in for a very beautiful Autumn.

I’ve established Birch Run as my base of operations, heading toward Bay City one day, Port Huron another day. I’m playing it by ear with the leaves, and I’ll undoubtedly know more as the date approaches.

The Au Sable lookouts over the river can be stunning in autumn colors. Lumberman’s Monument is one of the best. Plus most of the tourists have gone home so it’s not too busy.
Have a good time on vacation.

That’s now on my itinerary. I also found a state park near Tawas City that has birdwatching opportunities.

To come into the bay. It’s fun to watch the huge flocks of them play in the waves. I’m 15 miles west of Tawas City. 🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆.

For a gentle start to Autumn. That’s great for longer lasting colors.
