(Detroit News) U.S. Rep. Dan Kildee underwent surgery here Monday to remove a small, cancerous tumor in his tonsil and will miss votes in Congress as he recovers, his office said.The procedure at the George Washington University Hospital follows Kildees diagnosis last month of squamous cell carcinoma, which the congressman said is a serious but curable form of cancer.
He is expected to remain at the hospital for several days until he is discharged to continue recovery at home.The congressman is thankful to have caught his cancer diagnosis early and appreciates the care of his great team of doctors, said Mitchell Rivard, Kildees chief of staff.Rivard said he expects Kildee will be recovering and miss House votes for at least two weeks, though its too early to tell. .............(more)

I'm tired, I'm depressed and I'm sick and tired of being treated like either a child or subhuman or not even human.
I'm delighted that Kildee got the care he needs and I hope he's able to take the time he needs to heal, but really, I'm fed up with the constant double standard.

(30,172 posts)I'm hoping the Dominion trial will perk me up. Those are the voices that blare misogyny all day and night long and to have them silenced forever would make me deliriously happy.
