Even aliens can see Michigan's leaves changing color this fall.
The NOAA Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory captured the red and orange hues of fall in a satellite photo of Lake Superior, the laboratory said in a Facebook post Friday afternoon.
"Even last week, the northern Great Lakes region was already ablaze with some spectacular autumn foliage," the post reads.

Its on the tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula, smack dab in the center of the photo. Rented a cabin that was right on the shoreline of Lake Superior. I fondly remember sitting with a blanket on the cabins front porch after a steak dinner and a good bottle of wine, watching the ore boats pass by.
On the way up it was a perfect fall day. Highway 2 had just been re-paved, the road was perfectly black and the stripes brilliant yellow, the sky was an amazing blue, and the leaves peaking yellow, red, and orange. I had to shake my head to clear it and concentrate on the driving. It was a Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds like experience.
