Trump sees the world from a penthouse perspective, Biden says in Michigan visit
SOUTHFIELD, MI – Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is not on the ballot this November, but she was the subject of ample praise from Joe Biden on Friday as the Democratic presidential nominee spoke in metro Detroit.
“There’s not a better governor in the United States of America than Gretchen Whitmer,” Biden said. “That’s a fact. I’ve met virtually all of them.”
Whitmer has been at the center of Michigan political discussion Michigan all year. Her COVID-19 protections are ridiculed by President Donald Trump and his supporters, she’s sparred with Trump on Twitter and she was the target of a kidnapping plot from Michigan militia members that was foiled by law enforcement last week.
Whitmer introduced Biden on Friday, Oct. 16 at a Southfield gymnasium, with media and some supporters watching.
