It looks like my part of Michigan (Genesee County) might finally be getting some substantial snow

I've used the snow blower twice, this season. Maybe 3" of snow, including little drifting. Could have used the shovel but that takes too long.

Now it looks like maybe 7+inches by Thursday morning and a possibility of 4 more on Saturday.

I'm heading out to stock up some extra cat food (because no one wants to be trapped in a house with hungry felines) and plan to hunker down from Wednesday afternoon until the roads are plowed.

Of course, there hasn't yet been an accurate forecast for this season's weather but why risk it.

How many more days until Spring??

Our driveway has had to be plowed 5 times already this season. On Saturday, we got about 5-inches of snow bringing our season total to close to 2-feet. We haven’t had this much snow in several years, at least.

It’s pretty, the reservoirs are full and the roads are clear.

No substantial ground freeze allowed the flea population to explode. We have had some very cold temperatures so I'm hoping fleas won't be such a horrible problem.

There have been a lot of weather related school closings because they went by the inaccurate forecasts. I'm talking snow/ice in the forecast but just 2" of light snow falls yet all of the schools are closed. They should just reverse the school schedule and close the schools in the Winter instead of the Summer.

Until spring. Oddly, our winter just got started a few weeks ago. Weird. And I've a;ready had enough of it.

It's cold, +5F, and snowing this morning, have only seen a few hours above freezing the last couple weeks, going into the subzero zone tonight, again.

Also going to PT this morning, after waiting for weeks to get in, to help my upper torso and neck, issues from shoveling snow. Can't wait for the deep snow part to be over just for that. I shouldn't be shoveling at all but nobody else is going to do it for me. I usually end up with a waist high drift the runs from my porch steps to the car that's about 20 ft of drift. Shoveling that in single digits in the wind is just not something I should be doing anymore but here I am. At least I'll get some relief later this morning, after I shovel out the new snow to get to the car.
