Two veteran local government workers compete for Clinton Township supervisor

Republican Vicki Wolber and Democrat Paul Gieleghem are competing to succeed longtime Clinton Township Supervisor Bob Cannon in the Nov. 5 election.

Cannon will retire in November. He has served as supervisor since 2000.

Wolber, 54, retired from her role as a Macomb County deputy county executive in 2023 but continues to work part-time as a consultant for the county.

Gieleghem, 54, has served as Clinton Township's treasurer since 2016.

Whoever wins the race Tuesday will lead a township of nearly 100,000 people. The supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of the township and holds one of the seats on the Clinton Township Board of Trustees.
