Harris has big advantage over Trump among early Michigan voters, poll shows
Democrat Kamala Harris has a two-to-one advantage over Republican Donald Trump in early voting in Michigan's presidential election, according to a new statewide poll, continuing a voting trend that emerged in the 2020 and 2022 elections.
About 42% of Michigan voters supporting the Democratic vice president said they are planning to cast an absentee ballot, while about 18% of those supporting the GOP former president plan to vote absentee, according to a Detroit News/WDIV-TV (Channel 4) poll of 600 likely Michigan voters.
Overall, about 29% of Michigan voters plan to vote by absentee ballot, while 7% said they would cast their ballot early at an in-person early voting site, the survey conducted Oct. 1-4 by Glengariff Group found.
Harris had a narrow lead over Trump in the poll of 2.6 percentage points, which was within the margin of error of plus or minus four percentage points.
