City of Walker warns about election text scam
WALKER, Mich. (WOOD) — The city of Walker is warning residents about an election text message scam.
In a post on the city’s Facebook page, the city said the clerk’s office has received reports from voters about text messages that appear to be from either the State of Michigan, Kent County or the city of Walker regarding the November election.
“If the Walker Clerk’s office needs to contact a voter about an issue with their ballot, they will use multiple forms of communication, including a phone call, email, and a physical letter sent in the mail,” the post said.
Voters are advised to not click on the links included in the messages.
