Lake County voters to decide on library millage renewal

LAKE COUNTY — Voters in Lake County will be asked to support a ballot proposal seeking renewal of the county-wide library millage in the Aug. 6 primary election.

Pathfinder Community Library in Baldwin, Luther Area Public Library in Luther, and Chase Township Library in Chase each receive funding through the county-wide millage to support library services.

The three libraries are seeking approval of a .2420 mill levy for five years to cover operational expenses, according to information provided about the ballot proposal. The millage renewal would provide, on a per capita basis, approximately $186,913 per year to be split among the three libraries.

Once re-established, the Idlewild Public Library will be included in the funding distribution.
