Republican Massachusetts Senate candidate: Ed Markey is pond scum

Republican Massachusetts Senate nominee Gabriel Gomez is lashing out at his opponent, Rep. Ed Markey (D-MA), for being pond scum after the Democratic candidate released an ad attacking him for criticizing President Barack Obamas handling of the aftermath of Osama bin Ladens death.
You know Ive got four young kids, and theyve got to sit there and theyve got to see an ad with their dad, whos a SEAL, who served honorably, Gomez told a local reporter after recently speaking to the Newtown Needham Chamber of Commerce. And for him to be as dirty and low, pond scum, to like put me up there next to bin Laden, hes just gotta be called what he is. That simple.
Congressman Markeys been around for 40 years, he knows exactly what hes doing, he added.
Earlier this month, Markey had sought to highlight that Gomez had worked with a conservative super PAC that accused the president of releasing information about bin Ladens death for political purposes. In a recently released ad of his own, Gomez also said that Markey blames Gomez for the Newtown shooting.
unhappycamper comment: Gomez' silver tongue will win Republican votes for sure; not so much for Democrats and Independents.

(10,115 posts)criticize the POTUS? I can't blame him. He is in over his head and I can't wait for the debate when he has to answer to this group that tried to "Swift Boat" the POTUS. Hell, I would like him to answer the simple question of where he stands on abortion.

(135,425 posts)got out of the Navy around the time that he should have been promoted....
Which makes me wonder if he failed of selection...or got offered an early out in the drawdown....
Which makes me wonder why the USN would want to get rid of this guy with ALL this TRAINING...? I mean, he spent most of his Naval career in training...he went to the Naval Academy to play tennis, he went to aviation training (which is very expensive) and then he went to SEAL training.
Where he didn't go, near as I can tell, is DESERT SHIELD/STORM....but he did protect St. Kitts from harm...!
You'd think, if he was such great shakes, that the Navy would have promoted the guy and hung on to him for a bit--at least long enough so he qualified for a pension.
There's something missing in this guy's record. I feel it in my bones.
