Has any elected official in MA given its endorsement for or against question 2 or 3? (Original Post) Mass Nov 2012 OP
Doesn't MA put out anything on the internet to explain the ballot issues? Sekhmets Daughter Nov 2012 #1
I was just curious how our delegation and governor felt about these issues. I know where I stand on Mass Nov 2012 #2

That way, you can see who is running for what, ahead of time, in which races, and read the ballot initiatives.

I printed out a ton of 'em in large print and ran around to all my "regulars" (people I drive to the polls) last week so they could read them and make up their minds BEFORE they go in to vote. I also summarized the issues for them in conversation.

It will slow me up 'big time' (to quote Shotgun Dick) if they all get in there and decide to start reading that tiny print, so I urged them to come to a decision before they get in the car. They know I am trying to help a lot of people and that I have a "number" I want to hit (at least a hundred) so I'm hoping that pre-emptive effort will speed things up tomorrow!

Because the legislature is so overwhelmingly republican, I am simply voting NO on all 12 of the constitutional amendments.

We have an assisted suicide measure, a medical marijuana measure, and a motor vehicle "right to repair" initiative this time around. I know my riders will have different opinions on at least two of those, so I am not advocating for those; I am advocating for the "D" team for POTUS and downticket, though!

I personally would vote yes to legalize both medical marijuana and assisted suicide....What the heck is a "vehicle right to repair" does it have to do with insurance companies "totaling" your car so if it's an older model you've been screwed?

The law would require that the dealerships release the secrets so that independent car repairers can accurately diagnose a car's problem.

it had already somehow been passed into law, so the question on the ballot is now moot.

I'm still going to vote on it, though...a big YES.

And YES to the other two questions.

I'm actually very pissed off about the negative air time that's been giving to the assisted suicide question. The ads make it seem like all a person has to do is walk into a doctor's office and ask for an Rx for 100 Seconal and voila...there it is, and you take it to the drug store and it's filled and you go home and do yourself in.

That's not how it would go, and because people don't know the truth about how it would go, the issue is (last I heard) losing public support.

I don't know what people are so afraid of. Or why they insist that someone on hospice doesn't have the right to be spared weeks or months of INdignity while waiting to die.

to get much support for it. The bishops oppose euthanasia as vehemently as they do abortion, gay marriage and stem cell research. Pedophilia not so much.

things are looking fairly good for it, so far. Better than I expected, anyway.

Also...I am laughing like hell at the percentages voting for medical marijuana

On its face it makes Mass look like a bunch of potheads. hahahahahah!!!

On edit...

Right to end life...back to the "No" side of the column. Blech. I guess the religion factor is going to have a big impact there after all.
