Dracut man held on bail for swindling millions from former employer

WOBURN -- A 47-year-old Dracut man is being held on $10,000 cash bail as he faces larceny and tax evasion charges in connection with allegations he stole over a million worth of equipment from a Woburn-based company where he used to work.

Robert Gantz was indicted earlier this year on five counts of larceny over $250, five counts of tax evasion and a single count of false entry into corporate books, according to court records.

Prosecutors say Gantz worked for Beacon Health Options, a behavioral health management company, and it's predecessor, as a vice president in charge of information technology operations from 2010 to August of 2015.

In October of 2015, the company noticed "irregular purchasing practices" and began an internal investigation, according to prosecutors.
