Salem's bad week

The city of Salem, unfortunately, had had a very bad week, with two horrendous crimes being committed.

On Thursday a professor at Salem State University was stabbed several times by a student at the school. It is not yet know why this student followed the professor into the room and did this, and it is my understanding the professor does not know the student. He has, however been taken into custody and is being interviewed.

On Friday a 27 year old man was shot to death on a residential street. Again, the reason is not known as of now, but the shooter is in custody.

I don't live in Salem, but I am very close...two streets away. I know Salem is not a city that is prone to this type of activity. It is upsetting that this is happening in this fine city.
