Walsh under fire for shortened parade path
Organizers to sue over St. Pats Day route cut

Organizers of the annual South Boston St. Patricks Day parade say they will file a federal lawsuit tomorrow to force the city to restore its traditional 3.2-mile route calling the shortened route that cuts out historic sites and key neighborhoods such as Dorchester Heights unworkable.
Mayor Martin J. Walsh cited public safety earlier this month when he cut the route of the historic parade to 1.4 miles, and said it would follow the same abbreviated course as last year.
The mayor has essentially destroyed half the parade and inconvenienced half a million people, said Boston attorney Chester Darling, who is filing the complaint. The city of Boston has a heavy-handed mayor with little regard for the First Amendment.

Darling has long been a champion for the parade, winning a famous 9-0 Supreme Court case in 1995 that left it up to organizers who could and could not participate, after gay groups had been excluded.

NEWS FLASH: In 2015, the Supreme Court passed Obergefell v. Hodges which allowed Gay marriage across this country.
The organizers of the annual South Boston St. Patricks Day parade (Allied War Veteran's Council) have had their heads up their asses since at least 1995.
GAYS CAN GET MARRIED EVEN IN SOUTHIE!! Get used to it or your panties will forever remain in a twist. Or the parade could be moved out of Southie.
