New ‘Daily Show’ host honored by city
By Joe Incollingo

It doesn’t give anyone the day off, but Feb. 12 is nonetheless an official holiday in Boston. Mayor Marty Walsh proclaimed Friday Trevor Noah Day, kicking off the comedian’s sold-out six-show weekend at the Wilbur Theatre. While the dimply “Daily Show” host isn’t a Bostonian — he was born in Johannesburg — Walsh aimed to recognize Noah’s contribution to “the diversity of talent seen in and throughout the Northeast region of America,” as he wrote in the proclamation. Among Noah’s virtues, the mayor wrote, is his commitment to “spreading awareness to challenging issues facing America through humor, parody, and satire.” If you can’t celebrate, don’t worry: Stan Lee Day is coming up again this summer.

Both Trevor Noah and Larry Wilmore are kicking some funny ass.
