This jury surely had a difficult case to decide.

The jury in Salem deciding the rap/murder charges against 16 year old Philip Chism has announced their decision. Chism is guilty on 3 of the 4 charges, including murder in the 1st degree, of his algebra teacher at Danvers High. He was 14 at the time.

The charges are/were: Murder, rape(2), and armed robbery.

Being 16, he will likely sentenced to life, with the possibility of parole in 15 to 20 years.

This has been a very emotional time here on the North Shore. I commend the jury for their decision.
