Construction to start soon on new Fenway apartment tower
By Tim Logan Globe Staff October 20, 2015

Another new apartment building is getting underway in the Fenway.

Skanska USA and Prudential Real Estate Investors said Tuesday that they plan to start work this month on a long-planned 17-story, 212-unit apartment tower at 1350 Boylston St. The project, on the site of an old Burger King, is the latest in a string of new developments that have turned a stretch of fast-food outlets and gas stations into one of the hotter residential neighborhoods in the city.

It’s across the street from a complex of new buildings developed by Samuels & Associates, including Pierce Boston, a 30-story condo and apartment tower at the intersection of Brookline Avenue and Boylston Street that had its ceremonial groundbreaking last week.

Now Skanska, a Swedish construction giant that’s developing three buildings in the Seaport, is diving into the Fenway, too.
