Pols and Politics: Assessing the aftermath of failed Olympics bid

The folks at No Boston Olympics took a victory lap last week after the powers that be decided that, well, there would be No Boston Olympics.

After 20 months of work, they also have some green to show for it. And a printer.

Thanks to spending less than $10,000 to fight the now-dead bid for the 2024 Summer Games, the all-volunteer group will have a surplus from the $30,000 to $40,000 co-chair Chris Dempsey said it had raised when the U.S. Olympic Committee and Boston 2024 called off the city’s pursuit on Monday.

“Our single-largest expenditure is the $700 (we spent) renting a room at a church in the Back Bay for a community meeting,” Dempsey said.
