Marty Walsh refuses to "put the city on the hook" re: Olympics.

He's on TV right now, and he's telling the IOC to go fuck themselves, basically.

He says Boston 2024 is not being transparent. He's not shutting them down entirely, but he can't commit to a bid because those bums will put the taxpayers at risk.

He said if he has to sign on today (and that is what they are pushing for), then Boston is out of the running.

Major issues are liability caps, and signing a guarantee without knowing if the taxpayers will have to sign for cost overruns.


Interesting press conference.

I would as soon the Olympics go elsewhere--we're too congested.

The Olympics, I think, would crush us. We're too dense.

I say hold 'em in Detroit--and throw in a helluva real-live-old-building PARKOUR course!!! Let Banksy decorate it!!!
