Related: About this forumHello Massachusetts! Got any real pet friendly rentals near Medford?
My wife just got transferred up there, and is working in Medford. We are trying to find a rental that will take these guys, and their kitty sisters:
We're looking within a 20 mile radius of Medford. I know it's a long shot. Most 'pet friendly' places won't take large dogs let alone three of them. I would rather not have to re-home them if at all possible. We'll be coming up from South Florida. My wife has been calling realtors, but they haven't come up with anything. Maybe we could help save someone from foreclosure by renting their empty place out? Nikki Samson and Eightball have their paws crossed in the hope that they can stay together. Thanks for reading our post.

Did you try craigslist?

(3,010 posts)I thought I found a nice little bungalow until I found out the add was from a scammer. I thought the wording was a bit strange and we found out it was an auto-reply used by scammer. Apparently they are searching the web for homes for sale and then tricking people into sending them the deposits sight unseen. It was one of those 'too good to be true' kind of things. We'll keep searching. I just figured I'd throw a post up here and maybe someone with a place might see it. Thanks for the compliment too!

(50,130 posts)I took at look at the craigslist market for Medford. Very competitive. You might have to go out a bit farther, eh?

(3,010 posts)I see a house in Quincy and one in Weymouth, but I think these might be the scammers too. I tried calling the phone number posted and it was 'unavailable' and the mailbox was full. Maybe I should just load up the minivan and invade Medford with my army of animals. I was hoping my wife would get a more rural type location so it would be easier to move. My brother in NJ wants one of the dogs and I know a couple who would probably love to take the fluffy guy. They dote over him every time I go to the dog park. That would just leave us with the sheperd mix on the left. She's still pretty large though at about 70 lbs. Oh they joys of housing.

(91 posts)The traffic can be a nightmare. Try Woburn or Wilmington. They are more affordable.

(535 posts)One bedroom or three? Try Stoneham, Woburn, Wilmington, Billerica, Burlington, North Reading for reasonable house rentals.
House rentals in further out burbs with yards are more open to dogs. But 3 dogs? Sounds like this might cost you $1000 more deposit.

(3,010 posts)So just two humans. We could probably cough up that much of a deposit, but we aren't having any luck at all. Several real estate agents just said 'we can't help you' right up front to my wife. I have been looking all over too. I hate to say it, but I think she's going to give up on this and just come home. She doesn't want to give up the dogs and neither do I. We have had them for years now. We live in a townhouse with no yard, so it's not like we aren't used to living on top of other people. Thank you for your suggestions though. I'll try searching those areas more closely.

(3,010 posts)We'll be moving in next month. Thank you to those who responded. We got very luckly. We found a two story duplex and got the top floor. The landlords live below and have big dogs too.
