ABC Is Filming a ‘Documentary Series’ Inside Mass General’s Emergency Room
The project is filming through December.
Producers at ABC are using the No. 2 hospital in the nations ER as a set for an upcoming series tentatively titled Golden Hour. Filming began October 6 and is expected to continue through the end of December. The series, according to a report from Mass General, will focus on patients who come to the hospital with a critical problem and the medical intervention thatwhen delivered within a small window of timecan save lives and preserve families.
Is this sounds familiar, it should. Five years ago, ABC set up shop at Mass General, Brigham and Womens, and Boston Childrens to film Boston Med. That series, as well as New York Med, were both produced by Terry Wrong, who will also be leading this new series.
Mass General reps say that the show will feature patients with conditions for which getting the right care right away is essential. Cases will include ailments such as stroke, myocardial infarction, respiratory distress, trauma, and bleeding.
Filming is scheduled to take place at three Boston hospitals: Mass General, Brigham and Womens, and Boston Medical Center. According to a report from ABC, camera crews will also showcase Boston EMS and possibly other ambulances as they bring patients and loved ones into the hospitals.
