Casino repeal will be on the Mass. ballot!

The enlightened folks on the Supreme Judicial Court ruled today that casino repeal can be on the ballot!



Let's keep the damned things out of our Commonwealth!

3. Most people in western mass want a casino

Springfield has suffered greatly, far more than the rest of the state. The MGM proposal would bring a much needed boost to the economy.

I live in one of the Hilltowns, and while my town wouldn't benefit directly from a casino in Springfield, I do believe it would see some indirect benefits, like when people come in from NY or western VT, etc. Maybe they'll stop in to see the sights in my little rural area...spend some money...help support small businesses here. Because, with very few exceptions, there is NO industry here.

Maybe people staying in the casino hotel(s) would come up this way for some leaf-peeping in the Fall, even.

And yes...Springfield has suffered greatly.

Trouble with those anti casino bozos grinning like fools on TV is that they'll mouth the words, "Well, we need to find other ways, blah blah blah..." but they can NEVER come up with workable plans for revitalization of Springfield, which used to be known as "The City of Homes" but is going pretty quickly down the shitter.

Three years after the tornado of June 1, 2011, there are still sections of the South End that look like a bomb went off there. The South End. Where the proposed casino would be built.

Springfield is dying, very slowly, and very painfully.

And casino opponents don't care.

5. Oh, this one will be fun. I think the pro casino crowd has a leg up

now that the sites have been narrowed down. The NIMBY crowd already knows their backyards are safe.

If they're far enough away from the casino, what the hell should they care about it?

The people of Springfield voted, and the numbers in favor were pretty impressive. They know what they want for their city.

And, let's face it...it's not like Springfield isn't already a hellhole of drug activity, drive-by shootings, and other forms of crime...something that's been happening for decades now, in the total absence of the Evil Casinos.


Anyone against the casino on account of the "social problem" issue really needs to mind his or her own business.
