Restaurants from the past....

Oh, what a scene it was, back in the day. From star-spotting at the El Morocco to fine dining at Putnam & Thurston's. The Worcester area maintains a vibrant food scene today, but with the passage of time, some of those legendary places to meet and eat have gone away, leaving only pleasantly-digested memories. Here's a look back at a few of the ones that really hit the spot.

I remember quite a few of these. My mother actually worked at Ovide's in Sturbridge for a while and that is where we went out to eat after our prom back in the day

I'm sure there's a lot of gems out there. Some still operating, some a piece of the past.

Any time I could get someone to pick up the check I was there. A salad the size of the grand canyon, a slab of meat that fell off the sides of the plate, and of course, a baked potato.

Doggie bag up the leftovers and eat for a few days.

Never spent a lot of time in the Worcester area but had a few family from that area; I do remember a few of those places in the article.
