Mitt Romney to join Chris Christie at fundraiser
By ELIZABETH TITUS | 2/22/14 2:07 PM EST

Mitt Romney will join Chris Christie at a Republican Governors Association fundraiser in Boston on Thursday, officials confirmed.

The 2012 presidential nominee is a high-profile headliner for Christie, who has been plowing ahead with an RGA fundraising and travel schedule despite a traffic scandal that has dogged his administration in New Jersey since early January.

The event suggests a show of solidarity by Romney, whose team vetted Christie as a vice presidential nominee. Christie was criticized by some Republicans for embracing President Barack Obama in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy just days before the 2012 election.

Christie, a prospective 2016 presidential candidate, was in Washington Saturday for RGA meetings and the annual winter gathering of the National Governors Association. He ignored several reporters’ questions about the traffic scandal.

launching two unsuccessful presidential bids, I don't get what's so special about Willard. Yeah, he was MA governor, but what does that matter to Christie? Does CC need somebody around who is an even bigger chump than he is?
