For Those With Water, Customers in Southern Prince George’s County Should Bring Water to a Rolling Boil for 1 Minute Before Any Consumption

Laurel, Md. – Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at 2:20 a.m. – WSSC Water has issued a Boil Water Advisory (BWA) for all customers in southern Prince George’s County south of MD 4 (Pennsylvania Avenue) following a water main break. WSSC Water crews are in the process of locating the break. Once the break has been located, crews will begin the repair process. This is a developing situation. There is currently no timeframe on when repairs will be complete. More information will be forthcoming.
The BWA is affecting several hundred thousand customers in Southern Prince George’s County, south of MD 4.
Due to the size of the water main break, it is possible the customers in Southern Prince George’s County, south of MD 4, will have no water.

Calvert County water systems are supplied by wells in the Aquia, Piney Point, Nanjemoy, Magothy and
Low Patapsco Aquifers.
