(22,883 posts)Burt Bacharach (note the "a" in the middle!) and his music were huge musical influences for me in the 1960s and 1970s. He's a musical giant to me. Strangely, he's one of the few musical geniuses I've never had the occasion to meet!
His angular melodies, spiky harmonies and non-symmetrical phrases have always knocked me out. His career has spanned nearly 70 years and his songs have been recorded and performed by too many artists to list. He wrote pop songs, a Broadway musical, quite a few film and television scores. He produced recordings for many singers and his concerts have been presented around the world. What a talented man!

It's a goofy send-up of the spy film genre and stars a young Woody Allen and David Niven. It's a mess of a film and I believe it took three different directors to complete.
However, Bacharach and his collaborator, Hal David, wrote one of the greatest love songs ever composed: "The Look Of Love"
