We just launched Donna's campaign for Congress and we wanted to make sure you saw the big news.

Right now, Congress is filled with more procrastinators than planners, so Donna (Edwards) has stepped up to fight for MD-4 and make sure our voices are heard loud and clear in Washington.

We need Donna’s experience and progressive values in Washington to further progress on expanding affordable health care, bringing good-paying jobs back to our district, and so much more

Watch our launch video, join our team, then read Donna’s email about why she’s running for Congress.

Friends —

After Donald Trump was elected in 2016, I set out to learn more about where our country was headed. So, I spent three months driving 12,000 miles in a borrowed RV that I named Lucille.

I talked with people who’d probably never had a conversation with a Black woman before. They shared stories about the skyrocketing cost of insulin. In return, I shared my story about paying for the multiple sclerosis meds that keep me in good health.

Introducing my perspective as a Black woman from Prince George’s County to the national conversation was important to me. But when COVID rocked our country and shed light on the inequities that many tried to ignore — health care, income, education, justice, and more — I knew we could do better.

That’s why I’m announcing my candidacy for Congress.

The great people of Maryland’s fourth congressional district and the country deserve better. Our voices have not been heard. Our stories have not been told. Our families have been left behind. And our children have not been a priority.

Our district simply is not getting our fair share from Washington. I’ve got the experience and fight in me to fix that.

I was the first Black woman to represent Maryland in Congress, and I’m ready to head back to Congress with more seniority than most of the people in Washington. I’m bringing the clout and energy to ensure our district has a seat at the front and center of the table where the decisions are made.

When I represented MD-4 from 2008-2017, I worked to bring a thousand jobs to NASA, fund HBCUs at historic levels, and expand STEM education in our classrooms.

I’m running now to build on those victories and to deliver on things that really matter: Medicare for All, environmental justice for polluted communities, criminal justice reform, and securing the voting rights of every single one of us. It’s time we make the wealthy finally pay their fair share, so we can start bringing down the cost of living for our families.

I’m prepared to take on this fight, but I need your help. We’re organizing a grassroots movement from Fort Washington to Annapolis and everywhere in between and I’m counting on supporters like you.

The clock is ticking. With the primary election less than six months away, I hope you’ll join us in this fight today to amplify our district’s voices in Congress. Watch our launch video here.

Let’s do this together,

Donna
