The Calvert County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) today voted for a third extension

to the declaration of a local state of emergency for Calvert County. The resolution extends the declaration for an additional 30 days in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but does NOT impact Stage Two reopenings.

“Extending our local declaration of emergency simply allows the county to remain at a heightened state of readiness that enables staff to respond immediately in the event of an increase in COVID-19 cases,” said BOCC President Kelly McConkey. “It does not impact our ability or intent to continue with a phased reopening. There are many unknowns as we confront the short- and long-term impacts of this pandemic, so we will take every precaution to protect the health of our residents as we continue toward recovery.”
