Child seriously injured in 11-story fall from Takoma Park apartment building, authorities say

A toddler was seriously injured Monday after falling from the 11th story of an apartment building in Takoma Park, Md., authorities said.
The 2-year-old boy fell from a window in the rear of the apartment building in the 7600 block of Maple Avenue, according to the Takoma Park police department.
According to Pete Piringer, a spokesman for the Montgomery County Fire Department, the child was taken to a hospital with what were described as priority one injuries. That is the most serious category.
A police spokesman said the boy was moved to an intensive care unit.
In a Twitter message, police officials said the boy landed on mulch and ivy that was next to the sidewalk and parking lot. Capt. Dan Frishkorn, a spokesman for Montgomery County Police, told NBC4 that the softer area where they boy fell was “more absorbent,” which possibly helped cushion the fall.
It was not known what caused the fall, and police said they were investigating.

That would be something like 110-120 feet, right? I hope he'll be OK. (I have a terrible fear of heights/edges, so something like this is horrifying to me.)
