Helicopter crashes in Chesapeake Bay, water rescue underway

A water rescue is is underway in the Chesapeake Bay after a helicopter went down earlier Saturday.

The helicopter crashed into the water around Bloody Point on Kent Island in Maryland around 12:30 p.m., according to Kent Island volunteer firefighters.

A spokesperson for the Coast Guard told WTOP that they received a report of a two-seat helicopter with two men aboard went down. They have deployed several rescue boats to search the area where the aircraft crashed.
