Scott Harriman secures Democratic nomination in Lewiston House special election
ewiston City Councilor Scott Harriman won the Lewiston Democratic Caucus on Saturday, securing the partys nomination in the Feb. 24, 2026, special election for House District 94.
Harriman says that if hes elected to the House, he plans to continue focusing on housing affordability, access to healthcare and childcare, and protections for immigrants and refugees.
State legislatures are taking on more responsibilities and must resist federal overreach more than ever, Harriman said. We need legislators with tenacity and a strong moral compass. Ive stood up to bullies throughout my time in public service, and Ill continue to do that in Augusta on behalf of Lewiston people.
Harriman won over fellow Democrat Kiernan Majerus in the caucus, which was held Dec. 13 at the Lewiston Armory. The seat represents part of Lewiston and was left vacant following the resignation of former Rep. Kristen Cloutier, who stepped down to serve as chief of staff to Senate President Mattie Daughtry.
