Real ID law sucks

OK, so it's now time for me to renew my Maine driver's license. I have been a tax-paying resident and driver in the great state of Maine for 22 years. I have not, up till now, had any problem renewing my license.

But now, when I go in to renew, I must bring (for the first time) my birth certificate AND proof of Maine residency, such as a utility bill with MY NAME on it. Unfortunately, all our utility bills are under my husband's name. So I'm hoping that our joint Maine state tax return will satisfy them. If not, I'm going to have to hunt around for other papers to prove what the post office, my neighbors, and my accountant already know -- that I LIVE HERE.

WTF. I hate this new law.

And yeah, laws such as these suck big time, which is why we need to get the Republican sociopaths out of office and other places of power.

2. And what's funny is that my old driver's license isn't proof of residency

Nor is the fact the department of motor vehicles mailed my renewal reminder to MY ADDRESS.

6. It'd be fun to throw in the renewal notice as one of your proofs.

REAL ID is bullshit. Don't forget to complain about it to every political poller and every campaign worker you encounter this year.

the real id will keep the honest voter honest like the lock on your door keeps the honest neighbor out. The corrupt will simply counterfit them to continue dis-honest voting.
the culprit is the rigged voter machines, the puppet that manages to get to count votes with the real honest citizens or misplace ballots etc. these people should face a penalty that would discourage any attemp to stop or alter a voters right.
like 10 years in jail with no hope for parole -lose the right to vote for life! etc.
